Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. The father of the child, Paul Felix is an ordained Minister in the Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. Her mother Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix demonstrated a talent in athletics from the beginning, and soon discovered her ability to sprint when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. Only 10 weeks after her first tryout she came 2nd in the 200 meters during the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix, who graduated high school in 2003, signed the sports contract with Adidas. She then attended at the University of Southern California and studied elementary education. A year later Felix won her first Olympic medal in the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens Greece setting a junior world record by sprinting 200 meters at 22.18 seconds. Felix became the world's youngest athlete to win the 200 meters at the 2005 Helsinki World Championships and defended her title again in 2007, beating her long-time Jamaican rival Veronica Campbell. Felix was a regular competitor at Beijing, London Rio de Janeiro, as well as Tokyo. She consistently placed within the top three places of all events.
